Can I browse vendors without an account?

Yes. You can search and view vendor profiles without signing up. You'll only need an account when you want to save favourites, create an event, message a vendor or request quotes.

How do I create an event?

Once signed in, head to Events and create a new event project. You can add multi-day functions (mehndi, sangeet, nikkah, reception and more) with their own dates, venues and dress codes — all in one place.

What is Smart Match?

Smart Match is a short 60-second quiz. Tell us about your event — categories, dates, city, guest count, budget and style — and we'll recommend vendors that fit your brief. Location is a hard filter, so you'll only see vendors that actually serve your area.

How do saved vendors and shortlists work?

Save any vendor to a shortlist or attach them to an event project. You can organise favourites by function (mehndi, reception, etc.) and compare up to four vendors side-by-side before reaching out.

How do I request quotes?

Open a vendor's profile and click Request quote — or send a structured enquiry to up to five vendors at once. Their replies land in a single inbox so you can compare quotes like-for-like. There are no limits on how many quotes you can request.

Every enquiry starts a conversation in your OccasionList inbox. You keep a written record of prices, dates and inclusions in one place — useful when you're comparing options and making a decision.

Can I share my event plans with family?

Yes. You can invite collaborators (partner, parents, siblings) to your event project so they can view details, help shortlist vendors and track the plan together.

Can I build a wedding or event website with RSVPs?

Yes. Couples can build a multi-day event website with dates, venue details, dress codes and RSVP forms. You choose whether each guest can bring a +1 or multiple guests, and RSVP responses are collected in your account with email notifications.

Do bookings and payments happen on OccasionList?

No — bookings and payments are arranged directly between you and the vendor at the rates they quote. OccasionList is where you discover, message and compare vendors; the contract and payment are between you and them. Always confirm details in writing with the vendor before paying anything.

How do I join as a vendor?

Head to the vendor signup page and create an account. Add your business details, services, cover image and any photos, videos or social links you'd like to share, then submit your profile for review.

What is the Founding Vendor offer?

We may introduce paid features or subscription tiers in the future. If we do, we'll give existing vendors clear notice in advance, and any Founding Vendor benefits will be honoured as communicated at the time they joined.

How do I create and edit my profile?

Sign in and open your Vendor hub. From there you can edit your business name, services, categories, locations served, cultural experience, languages, cover image, portfolio images, video links and social links. Save often — your edits are drafted locally until you submit.

How does availability work — is it private?

Your availability calendar is private to you. Clients do not see your full calendar. On your public profile, clients see high-level availability indicators (for example, whether you're available for a specific date they're asking about) — not your full schedule.

Can clients see my full calendar?

No. Only you (and OccasionList for support purposes) can see your full calendar. Clients see availability signals based on the dates they enter, not your detailed diary.

How do I receive enquiries?

New enquiries and quote requests land in your OccasionList inbox. You'll also receive email notifications (which you can fine-tune in Notification settings) so you don't miss a lead.

Can I show my social links and website?

Yes. You can add your website, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and portfolio links to your profile. We encourage clients to message you on OccasionList first so you have a clear written record of enquiries and quotes.

How does profile visibility and badges work?

Once your profile is approved, it appears in search results and Smart Match. Some vendors may display badges such as Founding Vendor, Business Verified or Insurance Checked where applicable. Badges only appear where we have received the relevant information — they are not applied automatically to every vendor.

No — we don't claim that all vendors are verified. Vendors create their own profiles and are responsible for keeping their information, prices and availability accurate. Some vendors may display badges such as Founding Vendor, Business Verified or Insurance Checked where applicable. Always confirm details directly with the vendor before booking.

What do the badges mean?

Badges are optional trust signals that appear on a profile when we have received the relevant information from the vendor. Common badges include Founding Vendor (joined during launch), Business Verified (business details supplied) and Insurance Checked (public liability or similar cover shared with us). A vendor without a badge is not necessarily lower quality — it may simply mean they haven't shared that information with us.

Who is responsible for bookings and payments?

Bookings and payments are arranged directly between the client and the vendor. OccasionList is not a party to the contract, and we don't take a booking fee or commission. Always confirm the quote, deposit terms and cancellation policy in writing with the vendor before paying.
